Florian Sievers is active as a journalist, author, and cultural curator in Berlin. Together with Detlef Diederichsen he conceived and designed the festival Pop 16 which was held at Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin in May 2016. His texts have appeared, amongst others, in Spex, Brand Eins, Stern and Dummy. Sievers has a special weakness for electronic club music and the pop musicians of Africa’s emerging cities. Thus he organized the major project Ten Cities for the Goethe Institut which brought together club musicians and book authors from five African and five European cities. Sievers is currently writing the screenplay for a documentary film on the Ethiopian Azmari culture.
